From Seeking to Serving — Returning to Goodwill with Restoring the Remnant

This Wednesday, November 26th, Restoring the Remnant RTR will be present at Goodwill’s 68th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner & Community Resource Fair at the Baltimore Convention Center — and for me, it’s more than an event. It’s His grace for me.

I remember arriving in Baltimore from New York, uncertain and unfamiliar with my surroundings. I didn’t know where to begin. I just knew I needed help. Goodwill was one of the first places I turned to — not just for clothing or job leads, but for orientation, for understanding what was available to me in a city I was learning to call home. It was there that I began to see the power of showing up, asking for what I needed, and taking small steps toward big goals.

Now, years later, I return not as a seeker, but as a servant. Through Restoring the Remnant RTR and The Traumatology Center, I have the honor of offering others what I once needed: clarity, connection, and healing. We’ll be at the resource fair offering trauma healing support, spiritual encouragement, and pathways to resilience for individuals and families navigating hardship.

Our table will reflect our mission — a community of hope and healing — with resources that help people move from trauma to triumph. Whether someone is grieving, overwhelmed, or simply unsure of their next step, we’ll be there to listen, guide, and uplift.

This opportunity to give back through ministry and business is sacred to me. It reminds me that healing isn’t just personal — it’s communal. And it’s possible. I’m grateful to Goodwill for being part of my beginning, and now, part of my giving.
